Since I work in the fashion industry as a store manager, I’m able to see a lot of different patterns, trends, colors, and styles come through each season. It’s what got me to fall in love with fashion, so with fall right around the corner, that means fall fashion is finally here! That’s a lot of falls!

Who is more than ready for knee-high boots, leggings, cozy sweaters, and everything that is fall-related?

Below I’ll be giving you some juicy fashion trends you’ll be seeing this season that will keep you up to date and ready for trendy styles, in addition to new statement pieces that you can add to spruce up your outfit.

Color Trends

One of my favorite websites is Pantone because you’re able to look at a variety of different color palettes, colors that are geared toward different seasons, or even new colors that are coming out.

Each season, Pantone puts together palettes for every season on “what you can expect to see color-wise” and this year Pantone has put together sixteen different colors that you can 100% expect to see this fall season.

Pantone Color Palette

One color that you don’t see but has taken New York Fashion Week by storm is purple. Purple is expected to be a color that is going to swoop in big this fall.

If you love purple, now’s your chance to live out your fashion dreams!

Every season, styles tend to change to keep up with the latest trends. Fashion experts stay on top of it all to make sure that when new trends come out they’re ready and can provide us with the best styles.

This fall, you're going to see a vast variety of different patterns and prints when you go out shopping for your new wardrobe. You’ll either love them or hate them, but from what I’ve seen they’re eye-catching, easy to style, and a great statement piece to add to your collection!

Like fall, plaid is that one print you can’t get away from. It’s always in style for the season because who doesn’t love a good plaid button-up while they go to the pumpkin patch to take  photos?

One way to dress plaid this season is instead of using it as a shirt [that it already is], you can use it as a light jacket and have another shirt underneath. That way if it’s too hot for a jacket, you can throw on your button-up and viola! You have a darling lightweight jacket. It’s the 90s grunge trend all over again!

Animal Print

Okay, let’s be honest - animal print is taking over the scene this fall. Everywhere you look you can pretty much see something that is animal print, from an animal-printed top to small accents on accessories or even your shoes.

At this point, my entire closet is mostly neutrals with pops of color and animal print accents. Obsessed? Very.

Snakeskin and leopard print are the two biggest prints that you can see heavily this season. You can pair them so endlessly that they will give your entire outfit a new aesthetic or flare.

As spring was coming to an end, you probably noticed hints of leopard and that’s because leopard print was versatile for both spring and fall. But now that fall is coming in full-force, leopard is everywhere!

Leopard, in particular, is one of my favorite animal print patterns to accent with. You’re able to get a range in color and still have that cute, chic aesthetic.

You can never go wrong with a good accent of snakeskin. I have never been in awe over snakeskin until this season.

You can pair snakeskin with just about any color to give it that extra bit of dimension or edge that you’re looking for. If you don’t want to wear it as your accent in clothing, you can always find a good purse or shoes with a snakeskin pattern and you still get the same effect as if you were wearing it.

Just like leopard prints, snakeskin comes in all sorts of patterns and colors as well. Since it’s super versatile, you can’t go wrong with how you style it.

My favorite way to style snakeskin is in the little accents. For instance, if you use a thin snakeskin belt to add just the right amount of pattern or wear some snakeskin shoes, you’re destined to look stylish.

Accessory Trends

I’m sure you’ve all heard about “VSCO Girls,” girls who always have scrunchies and carry their Hydro Flask with them wherever they go. With the ‘90s coming back into play, I’ve noticed that if you have a ton of scrunchies, then you’re classified as a VSCO Girl, but let’s be real… scrunchies were big way before the term VSCO Girl!

Sometimes instead of wearing bracelets, a good scrunchie is the best alternative. With different prints, fabrics, and styles, you have an endless amount of options to choose from.

One of my favorite pros to using a scrunchie instead of a regular hair tie is that your hair hardly ever creases!

You might as well throw away your bobby pins this fall because hair clips are back and they’re coming with a vengeance. They’re a huge hair trend alongside scrunchies.

If you’re unsure of what a hair clip is, think of a barrette that just clips in your hair similar to a bobby pin, rather than clipping together.

We all love a good pair of earrings that we can style with any and every outfit. If you want to have a casual, less dolled up look, earrings can add just the right amount of pizzazz to spice up your outfit. However, if you’re going out and want to look stunning, you can never go wrong with big statement earrings.

Tassel Earrings

Tassel earrings have become my latest obsession when it comes to picking out the jewelry for my outfits. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but when I do, I always make sure I can snag a pair of tassel earrings to complete my look for any occasion.

These earrings are a must-have this season. Tassel earrings are going to be huge! They are a great statement piece if you want to be bold and daring. Whether you choose short tassels or long ones, you can wear them any day of the week!

Let’s talk about shoes. Shoes can either make or break an outfit depending on the style or vibe you’re shooting for. A good shoe that’s comfortable yet stylish is a keeper in my book.

From what I’ve seen on Instagram fashion influencer pages, there are a couple of shoes that you can 100% expect to see this season.

Moto Boot

A Moto Boot, also known as a combat boot, is going to be big this fall.

You’re going to be able to find these boots just about anywhere. Like a regular boot, you can pair these with leggings, tights, skinny jeans, or even dresses! Most of these boots come in black so they’re super easy to pair with. They’re the staple shoes of the season.

If you aren’t big into boots, don’t worry, there are going to be more shoes you won’t want to miss!

I don’t know about you, but I have been seeing a ton of loafers paired with different types of outfits, but mostly with skinny jeans and a super cute top. These shoes are super sleek and trendy.

With the open back, they’re easy to slip on and complete any outfit. The fun aspect of these shoes is that they are available in any print or color and either dress up for a night out or professional attire or dress down for a chic, casual look for a day out or just to look fabulous.

Slip-on Sneakers

Another good shoe that I’ve noticed this year are slide-on sneakers. Most of the ones that I have seen you can get in any solid base color, from neutrals to your fall favorites. Aside from solid colors, you can find some with a quilted effect that shows off an even more sleek look. BUT, let’s not forget that there are lots of them with prints! Yes, you read that right — prints!

One of my favorite pairs of shoes this fall are my snakeskin slip-on shoes. I don't have to tie my shoes; instead, I can just slip the suckers on and walk out the door. My favorite part about them is that they go with just about everything in my closet.

Hello, Fall 2019!!!

As fall approaches, I am stoked to be able to mix and match different styles and prints to give a new breath to fall fashion. With these new and upcoming, eye-catching trends, you’ll steal the day. No matter your style, these new trends and colors are so versatile that they will work for everyone!
